Alyssa Eckroth

Hi. My name is Alyssa Eckroth and I am a Senior at the University of Washington. I major in ECO (Education, Communities, Organizations) and I minor in Business Administration. Through my time at UW, I have had the opportunity to explore many areas of education and business and how each can fit together and succeed. Those who know me would describe me as a Creative Thinker, Bold Dreamer, Disciplined Business Leader, and a Passionate Coach. My values or continuous learning, financial security, and success greatly contribute to my leadership identities and are my driving, everyday motivational forces that help me succeed in every opportunity I take.

 

1 in 20 CEOs of Fortune 500 companies are women. 1 in 20. To me, that statistic is too low and I am working to improve it. My future goals is to be a forever leader while continuing on the leadership path, mentoring others, seeking out opportunities and one day, becoming CEO myself. Because I am a disciplined leader, I am able to stay focused, positive, and determined to achieve the goals I set for myself. I do what I do because I love it. I am passionate about every career choice I have made and it allows to me feel like I am not even working because of how much I enjoy it. I also do what I do because I know I can achieve greatness. Every late night, early morning, informational interview, career fair, coffee chats, club meetings, etc. have contributed to my success in some way. I wouldn’t change those experiences or knowledge for anything in the world because I have benefited from them in some way.

To me, leadership is not obtaining the highest positions, having the biggest paycheck or even being the best dressed. To me, leadership means determining priorities and supporting while directing a team to reach a common goal. Leadership means creatively thinking of ways to be more efficient, to build moral, and to ensure everything is running smoothly. I love being a leader and I hope to always be one throughout my career and life.
